Påskereprise

 

 

I like traditions. But this year I didn´t arrange our usual easter work shop. We´ve been decorating eggs using napkins and paint. So if you want some ideas for easter decorations, here are some of the eggs from last year. Now we´ll just wait for the easter bunny to some fill them. Or wait, I just did. And we´ve already started eating the snack. Happy easter!

It´s up!

I´ve been working on this mobile for months. In my head. I made the cubes for christmas and hung them in our window. Now I finally got to hang them in our bathroom as planned. I found this on Pinterest and used it for inspiration when making a base from chopsticks. I used invisible thread for hanging since I don´t know if it´s a boy or a girl. I bought the cubes from Snug and the mountain and box are printed from Minieco. Offcourse I have folded them myself. And that combined with see- through thread, trying to get the mobile stable, isn´t a pregnant woman´s friend. But now it´s up. Together with our new bag for laundry which I made from an old shower curtain. We needed to do some rearrangements in our bathroom for Mini. Now I hope he/she will come soon. I have no more things to make, move around or do. I´m bored. Almost going crazy. Moving postcards from one wall to another. Changing lamps. Lol. Luckily I do have yoga. 

Zip it

I love pillows. Old news, you say. I make new ones when I feel like. This one I decided to make months ago. Now it´s done. Spent a couple of hours in my attic trying to figure how to sew the zipper on. I decided not to stop before it was done. It´s a first time for everything. So I did it my way. I used an old zipper from my grandmothers treasure box. Felt great. It´s a pillow for nursing. Someone say I won´t need it. But I had to have one. I had to make a cool cushion. I used the old one I bought 2.hand as model. I bought this Marimekko fabric in Helsinki just for this! I know. I´m a sucker for design. And so it is. Now it´s done. Next: baby basket. 

Husmor my ass.

We used to have our cooking books in the kitchen. When we removed the shelf our books went away. This weekend Lidyll reminded me of my books covered in nice paper. So I re-papered some and put them closer to the kitchen. Maybe I´ll use them more then? Puh... I just ain´t a good house keeper. But I am not ashamed. I think it´s absolutely natural that my boyfriend do most of the cooking. Or we do it together. Which is twice as nice. 

I´m hooked

Thank you for your comments. I am alright. The change is good. Something I´ve hoped to happen for ages. Yet so overwhelming and scary. I´m still adjusting. But finally we´re moving on. Our life has been filled with so much waiting for years. So I guess this is what life is about. Changes. Developing. Stretching. Scary stuff. Well. I have made a hook, too. From an old exposure doll´s hand. Glued on a screw and dipped it in paint. Can´t wait to get my finger up.

Grønn søm

I've Adored Varpunen's plastic bags for ages. Now they pop up "everywhere" on blogs and Instagram. I still like them. And want one. I even think I´ll need one from February. But then I thought maybe I should try to make one on my own. Without pvc. Because I don't want that in my house. So I used some thick fabric and made a bag, in which I sew in the corners at the bottom. I am proud. I feel so smart. Now, what to store until February? I think I will make a big one too. 

How I did it:

• Cut out two rectangles. One fabric for the inside, one for the outside. You decide the size.
• Put them on top of each other (facing each other) and sew almost around
• Turn inside out 
• Sew the hole you left
• Fold it so the outsides of the bag are facing each other 
• Sew almost around, do not sew the top
• Turn inside out again and try to make a bottom, see how big you want it
• Then turn inside out again and sew in the corners like triangles (I Think there is also a more esthetic way of doing it, leaving the corners in between the fabric. But this seamed easier)
• Turn inside out 
• Tata!

Hurray. My friend and first redesign-inspirationmuse Lahra is back on track. I love her new pillows. Made by her and her son. What a perfect idea for a kid & mum project! Or just you and some kid. And I love that my christmas present got such a lovely outcome.

Finally! Fimo+keyboards=doorsign. Hurray. Now please give some energy to get through this rough week before winter brake. 

En ArTy dag

I have amazing friend. We did as we planned. Not just planned. We actually did it. Just do it! That´s our new favorite line. Yesterday was amazing. Yoga, arts, sushi, wine, gifts, friends, candy, dresses, make-up... I will show you more soon. It´s still a secret for someone. Thank you girls, I love you so. 

Levende Live

En kopp. I dag er det bare en kopp på bordet. Og en sjokolade til. Før frokost. Det går fint det også. Jeg nekter å bli voksen. Jeg er barnslig. Jeg er usikkelig. Gjør noe hemmelig. I går slo jeg en spiker i veggen. Klokka kom opp. I dag er en spennende dag. Tekstilplater er sendt på gangen. Jeg får besøk av fantastiske venninner i dag. Vi har en idé. Jeg er så spent. Og i kveld blir det kjoler og bobler. Gleder meg til å vise dere. Gjør noe vilt i dag du også. Det føles så bra. Ha en snop helg.
