Postcards from afar

I love decorating with collections of postcards. I ordered some new ones from the seventytree last week, and it always feels like getting gifts when things like that arrive in the mail. Now I must find a wall for them. And guess what, I´m also waiting for some from rk design. Art and decorations  doesn´t have to cost fortunes.

Reframing it

 

Week end. I love you. You give me time to play with my new toys. And my friends. This week end I´ve framed a new poster and bought some new plants. The teatowel from marimekko is now replaced. I also painted my nails with gold and had a very good time with some friends. Hope you´ve had a good one too! Peace.

Who says cleaning can´t be fun? I´ve prepared some danish gifts for my great team. They are amazing. 

Nice flat

Cool details from my friends´ apartment in Nørrebro, Copenhagen. I love their art, furniture, floor and the smart shelf for tea. Made out of two cd racks. Good idea, right? They have done so much work here and made a really cosy home for themselves. And for visitors. I am lucky to go see them now and then. 

Good things

Squeezing it hard. Holding on. Hoping karma will be our friend now. It´s about time the wind will blow our way. So much going on, all around me. Work and private. I´m just trying to go with the flow. Working on how to relax with what I can´t control. That´s not easy for a control freak like me. Luckily I have so many clever, warm persons around me. I´m so happy to be part of an amazing team. And then I will go for a little trip soon. Thought traveling doesn´t remove what´s hard, it just makes it better and easier to carry. 

Vas

Maybe I should get some flowers for my new vase, dipped by Elkika on behalf of all of my MADD colleagues. I love it. And them of course. So, this is my non-shopping month. I´m so good at it. Still I have got so many nice gifts. Like a month of Christmas eve. Furthermore I will be off to Copenhagen next week, visiting my little bird. Thank G.. April´s over during my stay there! 

Et navn

Elkika fills our home with homemade gifts and cards. I feel blessed. Thank you so much. See, I found out that your redesigned trianglething is perfect for our table!

Golddigga´

Det er ikke gull alt som glitrer. Likevel hjelper det litt å lakke med 24 karat gull. Uten gift. Og drikke rosa bobler med fine damer. Klemme ekstra hardt på en ball. Skikkelig hardt. Glemme det som ikke glitrer. For en liten stund. Fine kollegavenner er gode saker.


Sometimes it helps putting on a nice nailpolish. With real gold. And no toxins. Squeezing hard on a ball. Holding on to good friends. Drinking pink cava with nice ladies. And just pretending it´s all glam and rock´n roll. For a night. 

Premier

I won a himmeli from Bloggugla´s lottery. I had a plan making one. Luckily I won one instead. Now it´s in our window. Reminding me that I actually can win sometimes. I need reminders. Especially now.  Thank you Janne! And as a surprise I got this pink cup from her too. Happy weekend to all of you. 

Think outside the box

Elkika is the master of this. Thinking outside the box. Just look at these old boxes she redesigned for their hall. I love the contrast between wood and paint, it makes such cool patterns. Why do everyone try to hide wood behind paint nowadays? 


This is how she did it.

• Cut out the shape you want to highlight. She made triangles from foil. I guess you van use tape too, but then you must be careful when painting. 
• Put the foil where you want the wood to show.
• Use a sponge to put on paint around the foil. 
• Paint the box elsewhere. 
• Remove the foil. Tata!

Dip

Elkika picks up all the big trends way before it gets a hit. Seen on may abroad pages. Dipping things in paint is such a genial way to make more out of jars, vases, candleholders etc that you´re tired of. Or just don´t like the color of. I´m kind of sick og glass, so this is a smart way of reusing my vases.  When I first tried it didn´t turn out this cool. Remember to let the paint run of for quite a long time before you turn it upside down, to make nice patterns. Learning by doing!
