It´s up!

I´ve been working on this mobile for months. In my head. I made the cubes for christmas and hung them in our window. Now I finally got to hang them in our bathroom as planned. I found this on Pinterest and used it for inspiration when making a base from chopsticks. I used invisible thread for hanging since I don´t know if it´s a boy or a girl. I bought the cubes from Snug and the mountain and box are printed from Minieco. Offcourse I have folded them myself. And that combined with see- through thread, trying to get the mobile stable, isn´t a pregnant woman´s friend. But now it´s up. Together with our new bag for laundry which I made from an old shower curtain. We needed to do some rearrangements in our bathroom for Mini. Now I hope he/she will come soon. I have no more things to make, move around or do. I´m bored. Almost going crazy. Moving postcards from one wall to another. Changing lamps. Lol. Luckily I do have yoga.

It´s been on my list for so long. Finally I sat down and made a bag for diapers for Mini too. I actually think it´s hard cutting in lovely Marimekko fabric, so I always save it for something special. But it´s better making something I will (hopefully) use instead of storing it. I think some towels are too nice to use for dish drying, so I try to give them a new life as something useful. Like this.

Barnslige gleder

This week end I´ve finished Mini´s room. I want all to be ready. Just in case. Still 3 weeks (hopefully not more) to go. Those of you who have been following me for years probably know this has been a long, hard way. It has taken time and guts to believe this actually happening to us. Now I have decided to go all in. It scares me making the room ready, and thought like "what if...." cross my mind every day. It´s been a long pregnancy. And not a happy clappy naive one. And I have accepted that. I´ve wanted this for so long. Last year I almost gave up. I thought I´d never get to experience carrying a child, becoming a mum. This time we´re going all the way. We have to. Yet it´s s scary to say, because there´s no guarantee. I know. Therefore I plan nothing for the future. I have learned to take it all bit by bit- appreciating everything that´s good. Doing things I love. Treating myself and others good. Allowed some darkness to come through in between. But always coming back to the light. And then, one day, hopefully, it will all be here. And life will be even better. Crazy banana. 

Hang on

Yesterday I finally started hanging up stuff in my workroom, which is soon to be shared with Mini. Luckily I´m kind of childish so I think we both will be just fine in there. It´s on our 2nd floor next to our bedroom so it´s just for changing diapers at night. Finally this room is getting some focus, though. I´ll show you more when it´s done. Still some more to fix. Always. 

Making space

2 will become 3. I´ve made space for Mini in my workroom. Mini won´t need a room yet, so we will share. I´ve removed my fabrics under the bed. In boxes of course. Perfectly sorted after color. I also wanted more space by the walls so I moved our shelves out in our little hall in the attic. Compact living it is. And of course I have sorted out my sewing stuff and put it in boxes. I love boxes. As probably all nesters I´ve painted a bit and made a new cover for the babycrib. I will show you when it´s all ready. I still have the time. And some more plans. Next year.

Testing nesting

This was not to be a babyblog. And is still not to be. I´ve spent the last years waiting and hoping for this to happen. I almost gave it up. I´ve had a hard time reading blogs including babies, kids´rooms and cool kids clothing. It´s been a long way for us. Not just happiness and easy going. Now, almost in week 36 I must believe it´s going to happen for us too. This process has taken most of my time, energy and focus for quite a while. Now I´m nesting for real. So I guess there will be some posts about what I´m making for Mini. To be continued. 

Zip it

I love pillows. Old news, you say. I make new ones when I feel like. This one I decided to make months ago. Now it´s done. Spent a couple of hours in my attic trying to figure how to sew the zipper on. I decided not to stop before it was done. It´s a first time for everything. So I did it my way. I used an old zipper from my grandmothers treasure box. Felt great. It´s a pillow for nursing. Someone say I won´t need it. But I had to have one. I had to make a cool cushion. I used the old one I bought 2.hand as model. I bought this Marimekko fabric in Helsinki just for this! I know. I´m a sucker for design. And so it is. Now it´s done. Next: baby basket. 

Bæsj propp tiss

Ah, it felt so good finishing some sewing again! This is for diapers. Unused I must say. In norwegian it says "poop fart pee-pee". I think that fits for kids.
