Candy camo

I think Pinterest is great. It´s better than reading blogs. So quick. So many ideas. Like the other day I saw a woman´s (mkkmoen) baking babushkas filled with candy. Why haven´t I thought of that earlier? I have them too. Hid in a kitchen drawer. But not any more. I have brought them into the light in our livingroom. I have camouflaged my candy. Yeah. I love when I get inspired by others. To find my own stuff and use it in new ways. 

Sooo childish

All my childish interior stuff are coming out of their hiding spots, from closets and shut doors. I´ve gone through different interior periods in my life. Now these childish things finally will get the honor they deserve. I´ve had periods where  I stitched towels and nice fabrics to canvas. But didn´t quite like having them around all the time. Now they´re hung on walls. It feel like the right time for it. I also read once that it´s good feng shui or karma to add some childish stuff around in your interior if you want to get pregnant. So that the child will feel welcome and want to grow in your belly. Maybe that´s what have happened here? Hm. You can also see my first nesting project on the bed. I made a big, old (one of my favorite retro fabrics) bed sheet smaller so that Mini can have it. 
One of my first DIY projects I guess was a big canvas with textile from Marimekko, which I have changed the fabric on lots of times. Now I had to find a place for the big dotted one, it´s been in our hall on the floor for a year maybe. And all of a sudden it hit me- behind the bed! Yes. And then, all out of nothing- we had a headboard for our guest bed. I felt so smart. And glad my head still works. 

Camerabag

You know that bag to bring to the hospital? I´m working on it. Every day. hard to decide what to bring. But offcourse we´ll bring our cameras. So we needed a new bag for our film camera.I made one from a Marimekko towel and an old plaid (fleece). Funny how glad you can get when all out of a sudden an old, extra button from Cheap Monday showed up in one of my boxes. Yeah.

Husmor my ass.

We used to have our cooking books in the kitchen. When we removed the shelf our books went away. This weekend Lidyll reminded me of my books covered in nice paper. So I re-papered some and put them closer to the kitchen. Maybe I´ll use them more then? Puh... I just ain´t a good house keeper. But I am not ashamed. I think it´s absolutely natural that my boyfriend do most of the cooking. Or we do it together. Which is twice as nice. 

I´m hooked

Thank you for your comments. I am alright. The change is good. Something I´ve hoped to happen for ages. Yet so overwhelming and scary. I´m still adjusting. But finally we´re moving on. Our life has been filled with so much waiting for years. So I guess this is what life is about. Changes. Developing. Stretching. Scary stuff. Well. I have made a hook, too. From an old exposure doll´s hand. Glued on a screw and dipped it in paint. Can´t wait to get my finger up.

Ring ring

Do you remember the time when we had a table for the one and only phone in the household? Normally placed in every hall. Now this could be ours. Ring ring. 

The mask

I´ve had some trouble sleeping lately. For a long time I´ve also thought about making a lavender mask for yoga meditations. Yestarday I finally made it, from left overs I keep in a box. (I made some pillows from teatowels and just kept going. Those of you following me on Instagram already know). This is how I did it.

• I used an old mask as model. I cut of the band so I could reuse it on this new one. 
• Cut my own shape around the old one.
• Put the right side against right and sew around. Put the band in between. Leave a gap. 
• Turn inside out, so that the inside comes out.
• Put lavender inside.
• Sew the hole by hand or machine. I first did it by hand, then i made zig zag around the whole mask. 
• Go to bed, your sofa or yoga mat.
• Relax.

• Spray-paint some toys and add some tape 
• Dip jars or vases in paint and let it run off
• Add some foil to what your´re painting, and get cool geometric effects
• Make a board from old kitchen doors/closets, paint it with chalk board paint 
• Spray-paint a hand from an exposure doll. If you hang it on the wall you´ll have a supercool hook for whatever. 
• Make dots or other shapes on flowerpots using a felt pen for ceramics
• Make your own pillows. Or use those you´ve got. Print out cool things you like, pictures or quotes, on t-shirt transfer. Iron it on. Tata! 
• Play with tape and toys around the house
• Cut out shapes in foil and stick it to vases or jars you paint. Remove the foil and you´ll have cool patterns.

Lampefix med lure trix

I often feel sorry for cool, old lamps and furniture that always has t be painted or sprayed. What about keeping them as they are? I was lucky to be given two lamps like this, so I gave one away to a good friend. Now I´ve given my lamp a small facelift. I wanted a new conduction. So I taped it with black (electrician) tape instead of buying a new one. I made the outlet black with a black felt-tip pen. Happy change. 

Reframing it

 

Week end. I love you. You give me time to play with my new toys. And my friends. This week end I´ve framed a new poster and bought some new plants. The teatowel from marimekko is now replaced. I also painted my nails with gold and had a very good time with some friends. Hope you´ve had a good one too! Peace.
